Pampered You Salon clientele are generally more tech savvy than your average person on the street. As more and more people find the salon via the web, use the web site to request appointments, check in on foursquare and follow the salon on Facebook and Twitter we’re happy to roll out new technology features that will make your visit to the salon more interesting and convenient.

Therefore, we’re pleased to announce that Pampered You customers now have the option of making their payments using their smart phones! In order to participate you simply have to install Card Case on your smart phone and tell Jen you’re paying using Card Case at check out.

I hope everyone had a great holiday celebrating with friends and family. I know I sure did. We spent 10 wonderful days with my family in Gainesville, Florida and also got to visit with some of my husband’s family further south. It was a much needed time of rest, relaxation and recharging. Now that the new year is here, it’s time to get back to work! As most people, I have resolutions for the new year, but not many. One of them is to be healthier. It’s taking baby steps but I’m getting there. The plan is to eat smaller portions, only when I’m actually hungry, choose better quality foods to put in my mouth, and drink more water. What are your main resolutions for 2012? I love the new year because it’s a brand new start for everything. Then again, we could live each day like this. If you woke up each day resolving to make it the best day, how wonderful would that be?

New hair

There’s nothing quite like getting a new hairstyle or new color. Change is good. Heck, if you can’t experiment and express yourself with your hair, what can you play with like that? Nothing! Tattoos are permanent. Sure you can change your clothes, but your hair is your most versatile “accessory” on your body. It can totally change your look. About 3 months ago, I woke up one day deciding that I wanted an asymmetrical ‘do. I told one of the ladies in the building about my idea, and she happened to have time to do it THAT DAY! (amazing, meant to be!) I’ve been wearing the style for the last 3 months. Lately I have been feeling like I wanted to go even shorter and get a pixie style. I haven’t had my hair that short in probably a good 11 years, if not longer. Funny how a simple “I’m having a ‘I want to chop my hair off’ moment” text can turn into a haircut appointment. I got the cut I wanted, again. Came home and highlighted my hair. I’m LOVING the shorter, blonder hair I sport now.

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving! During the break I read Butch Walker’s book, Drinking with Strangers: A Memoir. It’s a really great read! Reading the book caused me to crank up some Butch Walker tunes, along with anything I could find that he collaborated on. Kindle in one hand and my phone armed with Spotify or Amazon MP3 in the other.. good times. If you know me at all, you know I love the band Train. Butch is producing their next album due out next year, and I cannot wait for that! He’s really talented as a musician, songwriter and producer.

A couple of favorite songs are She Likes Hair Bands and Best Thing You Never Had. Check out his latest album The Spade. My favorite on that one is “Summer of ’89″
