NeedToBreathe has been on heavy rotation at the salon this week. They’re a rock band from Seneca, South Carolina and they opened for Taylor Swift on the North American leg of her Speak Now World Tour. Here at Pampered You Salon, we’re pretty geeky and one of our favorite apps is foursquare (check out our foursquare venue page here). Time to start thinking about Christmas. I haven’t been very good about keeping up with my blog posts on here. Sorry about that! The post before last was about being closed for Christmas 2010, and here we are, almost a month away from Christmas 2011. We are heading to Florida to be with family again this year so I will be closed on Dec. 23rd and reopen on January 3rd. As you may have noticed, the look of the site has changed. Soon there will be a fantastic addition to the website: a mobile version! My intention for 2012 is to blog at least once a week. It may be short, long or may not have anything to do with hair. But I hope you check back to see what’s happening at Salon Suites and with Pampered You Salon. Mostly, I hope you’re ready to eat lots of turkey, sides, and DESSERT for Thanksgiving! Let’s all be thankful for what we have. We’re truly blessed.

Today I went into a local drug store to refill a prescription. I walked down the aisle where hair care was and saw this:

So it really got my goat today. I hate diversion, just pisses me off. Then today I ran across this video when I googled diversion because I needed to report to nodivert@aol.com and wanted to make sure that address was still correct.
This is an excellent report on why it’s important to buy professional salon products from your stylist vs. the drug store or local grocery store. Please please please watch and learn. If you’re going to spend money on good products for your hair, don’t you want to make sure it’s the real deal and not a scam? Don’t be ripped off!!
July 3rd and 31st (both Saturdays) we are having a benefit Cut-A-Thon for Shelly Boles/Crider who passed away in January of this year. She needs a headstone. From 10am to 3pm both of these dates at Pampered You Salon, you can come get your hair cut for $10 (adults) and $5 (kids 12 & under). 100% of the money raised will go to this fund to pay for Shelly’s headstone and anything over the amount needed will help pay for unpaid funeral costs. This will be a walk-in only and first come, first served basis. No appointments will be taken. If needed, you may call 787-7636 for directions and more information. Thank you!
